Sri Sankara Vidyalaya inaugurated at RA Puram
1972

The school begins a new journey from the Vasantha Press campus, Adyar
1977

Smt. T.R. Meenakshi Sundaram takes over as Principal

Senior Secondary courses begin. The school is renamed as Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School

The first batch of students is sent to take the XII Standard examination

Thuraiyur Arunachala Ramaswami (TAR) Block comes up

Shri S.R. Santhanam takes over as Principal

Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School celebrates its Silver Jubilee. The school’s facade changes as Vasantha Press building is demolished and North Block is built

Smt. Ramaa Swaminathan takes over as Principal

Biotechnology introduced as a subject for Senior Secondary classes; Biotech lab inaugurated

Smt. Subala Ananthanarayanan takes over as Principal

Student delegates attend Asia-Pacific Young Leaders Summit in Singapore.

First SANMUN (Sankara Model United Nations) is conducted at the school.

First ISO 9001-2008 certification awarded

Math Lab introduced

Sankara student leadership summit initiated by alumni

Smt. Mita Venkatesh takes over as Principal

East block inaugurated.

Labs updated with state-of-the-art infrastructure.

West Block and Auditorium with state-of-the-art acoustics inaugurated.

Digital Transformation Committee formed comprising of Principal, Vice Principal, Teachers,  Alumni and a Digital Transformation Consultant.

Artificial Intelligence introduced as a subject for the Secondary classes.

Marketing introduced as a subject for Senior Secondary classes

ISO 9001-2015 latest recertification
