St. Francis Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Thirumangalam was established on 15 June 1971 under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Mathias O.F.M. Cap., beginning with just seven students. Managed by the Capuchin Fathers, it is a private unaided Christian minority institution recognized by the Tamil Nadu government and affiliated to the State Board. The school offers education from pre-primary to class XII in the English medium.
