Established on June 5, 1980, Manipur University became a central university in 2005. It is located in Imphal and spans 287 acres at Canchipur, a historic site of the Manipur kingdom.
The university offers undergraduate to doctoral programs across sciences, humanities, social sciences, and technology, and is recognized by UGC and NAAC.
