Founded on February 10, 1921, during the Non-Cooperation Movement, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith was established by Babu Shiv Prasad Gupta and Bhagwan Das in Varanasi. It was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi and became a center for national education through Hindi medium.
The university played a significant role in the Indian freedom struggle and has a legacy of promoting education rooted in Indian culture and values. It offers a variety of programs across disciplines.
