The Jaypee Institute of Engineering and Technology (JIET) was established in 2003 in Madhya Pradesh as a private institute by the Jaypee Group. In 2010, the Madhya Pradesh government granted it the status of Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology (JUET) under the Madhya Pradesh Private University Act 2007, making it the state's first private university. JUET is located in the Guna district and aims to serve as a center of excellence for engineering and technology, providing skilled technical manpower to the region and the country
