Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC), originally named Government Engineering College (GEC), was founded on July 7, 1947, making it the oldest technical institution in Central India and the state of Madhya Pradesh, and one of the oldest in India. The college was established under British rule and was the first institution in India to offer Electronics & Telecommunication engineering education
