Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT), now known as Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), was established in 1998 as Delhi's first women's engineering college. Initially, it was a constituent college of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. In 2013, it was transformed into a non-affiliating university focused on promoting women in engineering, technology, and applied sciences
