Tolani Foundation Gandhidham Polytechnic was initially established as a vocational training institute offering short-term courses like the Mistry Course and Sub Overseer course. In 1961, the institute's management was taken over by Maitri Mandal and it was renamed Gandhidham Civil Engineering Institute. Later, a community polytechnic wing was established with funding from the Ministry of Human Resource Development to undertake rural development projects in Kutch. The institution is now known as Tolani Foundation Gandhidham Polytechnic (TFGP) and is a private, self-financing college
