His Holiness Shri Marishantaveera Mahaswamiji, the 16th Peethadhipati, was a great scholar with profound knowledge of Sanskrit, Philosophy, Logic, and Ayurveda. He was an educationist and social reformer who initiated free boarding and hostel facilities for poor students from all backgrounds. He founded Shri Gavisiddeshwar High School in 1951, and later, in 1963, Shri Gavisiddeshwar Arts, Science & Commerce College was established under the Shri Gavisiddeshwar Vidya Vardhaka Trust to cater to the diverse educational needs of the area. He generously donated all his landed property to the Trust for its sustenance and growth.Today, the Trust runs a number of educational institutions, ranging from LKG to PG, including an Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital. It is a matter of pride that the S.G.V.V. Trust has extended its services to those in need and is dedicated to providing excellent educational facilities.
