Drawing inspiration from the founder of E A E and St. Thomas Orphanage, Malphono Nasiho V.Rev. Fr. Athungal Gheevarghese Cor-episcopa, a great visionary, reformer and religious leader of the 19th century, Mor Policarpose Gheevarghese Metropolitan and V.Rev. Fr. Alexander Cor-episcopa, president and manager of St.Thomas orphanage respectively, started the Santom Public School Thungali in 1994. The school started in St, Mary's convent building at Thungali, Vengoor and first admission was done for lower kindergarten. The present school building was well established in 2007. First batch of class X & XII passed out on 2005 and 2007 respectively.The school is founded on a most magnificent hill top in Thungali, heartwarming, enriched with scenic and panoramic view of surroundings places. This is a place managed to remain safe and sound and away from the clutches of commercialization and drugs. The atmosphere is suitable for school life.
