On October 19, 2020, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan approved 50 new Kendriya Vidyalayas, including Kendriya Vidyalaya RTC ITBP Shivagangai. The school began operations in the Academic Year 2020-21 for classes I to V and has since expanded to class IX in 2024-25. The land for its new building was allocated in 2020 to KV Illuppaikudi by RTC ITBP ILLUPPAIKUDI.Construction work of new School building started in the year 2023.The construction work is expected to be completed in November 2024.Currently Vidyalaya is operating in a temporary building at RTC ITBP Illuppaikudi.Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan appointed 10 Permanent staff members in the year 2023-24.The school established its Scouts and Guides units in 2024.A fully operational RO plant was installed near the school in 2024 by Shri Achal Sharma, the Honorable Chairman, VMC, KV RTC ITBP Illuppaikudi.Smart board classes began in 2023-24 Academic Year.The school has received approval to start its NCC unit in 2024-25 Academic Year.
