Ambika English Medium School Palakunnu is one of the prestigious institutions of Palakunnu Sree Bhagavathi Kshetra Vidyabhyasa Samithi, a sub body of Palakunnu Sree Bhagavathi Temple which is one of the famous temples in Malabar region of Kerala. Ambika English medium School was established in 1968 and it is managed by the Private Unaided Management.It is located in BEKAL block of KASARAGOD district of KERALA. The school consists of Grades from 1 to 12. The school is co-educational and it has an attached pre-primary section. It has got 10 teachers for pre-primary section. The school is non-residential in nature and is not using school building as a shift-school. During the previous academic year; the school functioned for 220 days. It had 2 academic inspections and was not visited by the CRC and BRC Coordinators during the previous academic year. English is the medium of instructions in this school. In this school academic session starts in June.The school has implemented continuous & comprehensive evaluation (CCE).In the year 1999 the school was granted affiliation to CBSE and upgraded to Senior Secondary Level, offering Science and Commerce Streams. So far our school has produced excellent results both in Secondary and Senior Secondary Classes.Our School has won remarkable achievements in co curricular activities, especially in sports. Eventhough the school is under a temple it is above the sectarian and parochial feelings of caste and religion. Our school strongly upholds the principle of Secularism.Palakunnu Shree Bhagavathi Temple is one of the famous temples in North Malabar. It is managed by registered and elected body. Under this body, a separate body has been registered as Vidyabhyasa Samithi with the intention of aparting modern education to the general public. A nursery school was started during the year 1982 which was upgraded to Primary School during 1986. It got affiliation CBSE during the year 1999. Till March 2015, 14 batches of 10th Std and nine batches of Plus two were presented for Board Examinations and the results for the 10th Std were cent percent with high marks and grades through out as well as plus two excent during March 2011 & 2012.
