Bir Tikendrajit University in Imphal, Manipur was established in 2020. It is a private university recognized by the UGC (University Grants Commission) under section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956.
The university is also recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and is affiliated with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It also has approvals from the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)
