Established on October 2, 1983, Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) is a public state university located in Kottayam, Kerala. Formerly known as Gandhiji University, it was renamed to honor Mahatma Gandhi. The university has jurisdiction over several districts in central Kerala.
MGU is recognized by the UGC and accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC. It offers a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across arts, science, technology, and professional fields.
