Established on February 12, 1991, by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, MGCGV is India's first rural university, located in Chitrakoot, Satna district. It was founded by Nanaji Deshmukh to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi's vision of rural development and self-reliance.
