Haryana, traces its roots back over 60 years when the College of Veterinary Sciences was relocated from Lahore (now in Pakistan) to Hisar. Initially a part of the CCS Haryana Agricultural University, it became an independent entity in 2010, named in memory of Lala Lajpat Rai.
The university has a rich legacy in veterinary education and research. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, focusing on animal health, production, and welfare, contributing significantly to the livestock sector in India.
