Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela is one of the major engineering institutes in India. It was established in June 2002 by an Act of the Assembly, Government of Orissa. BPUT has more than 158 colleges, both constituent and affiliated, under its ambit. Most of the education programs in Orissa, under engineering, pharmacy, architecture, MCA and MBA programmes are provided by either constituent or affiliated colleges of the BPUT Orissa. It’s architecture programme is approved by Council of Architecture (COA). Biju Patnaik University of Technology BPUT is making arrangements for the development of its campus as of 2011. It’s campus will be spread over 139 acres. BPUT Rourkela campus will have a central court, administrative offices, a central library and a student complex. It’s secondary campus at Bhubaneswar (BPUT Bhubaneswar) will spread over 10 acres. It will comprise of exam evaluation centre, JEE building, counselling and admissions centre, job placement centre and guest houses.
