St. John De Britto College of Education, Thanjavur, is one of the prestigious educational institutions, managed by the “Diocese of Tanjore Society” a religious charitable organisation. It is the fruition of the visionary dream and meticulous planning of the philanthropic Bishop, Most. Rev.Dr. M. Devadass Ambrose, and the long cherished aspirations of the priests, religious and laity of the diocese. At present there are 190 educational institutions from primary level to higher educational level in the Diocese of Tanjore. College was started in It is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU), Chennai, approved by National Council for Teachers’ Education (NCTE) and accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. At present Rev.Dr.S. Joseph Lionel is the Correspondent and Secretary of the College and Dr.J. Mary Caroline is the Principal of the College. The team of teaching and non-teaching staff include well qualified and experienced persons. The college is located in the midst of lush green property of Bishop Sundaram Campus, opposite to Infant Jesus Church, adjacent to Annai Vailankanni Arts and Science College (Bus route: All the buses between New and Old bus stand at Thanjavur stop in front of the college.
