Salesian College came into existence on May 25, 1982, primarily as an institution that offered a three-year course in Philosophy for the young members of the Salesian Society and the Diocesan Seminarians in North East India. In 1995, the college was affiliated to Nagaland University as a full-fledged Degree Arts College, with a new nomenclature called Salesian College of Higher Education, opening its doors to young men and women who are desirous of pursuing undergraduate studies.
