About

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal began as the Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT) in 1960 and was later elevated to a Deemed University in 2002, gaining its current name and the status of an Institute of National Importance in 2007. Named after India's first Education Minister, Abul Kalam Azad, it started with a small intake of 120 students and seven faculty members.
