Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), formerly the University of Indore, was established in 1964 by an Act of the Madhya Pradesh Legislature and is a prominent university in Central India. It was inaugurated in 1964 by Dr. Zakir Hussain, the then Vice President of India. The university is named after the 18th-century queen of the Holkar dynasty, Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar, a significant figure in the region's history
