College of Engineering, Poonjar is established by the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), a Government of Kerala Undertaking. IHRD is a pioneer educational organization supported by Kearla Government College of Engineering, Poonjar started its functioning in the academic year 2000-2001. The College is affiliated to the prestigious Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). Currently the institution offers M.Tech in Electronics Engineering ( Signal Processing) and Computer and information Science and B.Tech Degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The institution is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to CUSAT. It is under the management of IHRD (Institute of Human Resources Development) , a Kerala Government undertaking
