A humble desire to give back to the alma mater and the society at large while having the inner pleasure to reach out to the distressed and being tied together by a value system that transforms the past students of St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata into “men and women for others” gave birth to St. Xavier’s College (Calcutta) Alumni Association (SXCCAA) in the year 1985.

The association is registered under the West Bengal societies Act and perhaps the first alumni association in Kolkata to have been granted 80G Certification from the Income Tax Department and the first in India to have been certified with ISO 9001:2008 Certification.

The association functioned very actively since its inception and since then it has not looked back. It was in the year 2009, Rev. Fr. Dr. John Felix Raj, SJ took over as Principal of St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and thus became the President of the association as per the provisions of the Constitution of SXCCAA. The dynamism of its President took the association to greater heights and glories with each passing year.

Apart from regular calendar events like Tea Meet, ‘Sangam’ Reunion Dinner, Fr. Joris Memorial Cricket Match, Fr. Joe D’Souza Memorial ‘Nihil Utra’ Debate, Fr. Maliyekal Memorial Football Match, Annual Picnic, Beyond Barriers, Philanthropy Day and Medical Camp, Teachers’ Day, Friday Fellowship, only to name a few, the association also organizes panel discussions with eminent personalities ably led by its committed women members under the banner Womens’ Forum of SXCCAA. The association is an active member of Jesuit Alumni Association of India (JAAI) and World Union of Jesuit Alumnae (WUJA).
