Dev Polytechnic College was established in 1983 by the Chamber of Commerce Educational and Charitable Society of Thanjavur. It was founded with the vision to provide technical education, particularly to those from socially deprived, economically moderate, and educationally backward communities. The college is located on a 25-acre plot in Kuruvadi village, Thanjavur, and is named after Sri Manali Ramakrishna Mudaliar, who donated the land.
